What is Level 2 Support Coordination?
Level 2 Support Coordination, called Coordination of Supports in the NDIS, is ongoing help to put your whole plan into action and keep it working. Your coordinator stays with you across the life of your plan, not just at the start.
We help you choose and manage providers, keep an eye on your budgets and step in early when something isn't working. With your consent, we keep in touch with the people around you, such as family, your treating team and your providers, so everyone is pulling in the same direction.
Is this right for you?
- You have several providers, therapists or services that need to work together
- Your plan isn't working the way it should, or supports keep falling through
- You're worried your funding won't last until the end of your plan
- Your circumstances change often, or you have a lot going on in your life
- You'd like help preparing evidence for your next plan reassessment
- You want a fresh start with a coordinator who answers and follows through
If your situation involves high risk, such as a crisis, a long hospital stay, housing breakdown or justice involvement, Level 3 may be a better fit.
What's included
Level 2 covers the whole plan. Here's what that usually looks like.
Choosing and managing providers
We research, compare and contact providers for you, then keep track of how each one is going.
Budget tracking
We check your spending regularly so your funds last the full plan, with clear updates in plain language.
Solving problems early
When a support falls through or something changes, we act quickly, before small problems grow.
Joining up your team
With your consent, we keep family, your treating team and providers working from the same plan.
Changes in your circumstances
If your health, home or family situation changes, we adjust your supports and help request a plan change if needed.
Preparing for reassessment
We start gathering reports and evidence months ahead, so you know what to ask for and why.
How it looks in practice
Daniel's supports finally work together
Daniel is 41 and lives with an acquired brain injury after a car accident. He lives in his own unit in Adelaide and has funding for several therapies and some assistive technology.
Before Level 2, Daniel's appointments clashed, one provider had stopped turning up, and he'd used most of his therapy budget in five months. His coordinator mapped all his supports on a single page. Together they spread therapy across the week, found a new occupational therapist and set up a monthly budget check-in.
Three months before his reassessment, the coordinator started collecting progress reports. Daniel went into his planning meeting with clear evidence of what had helped and what he still needed.
How Level 2 is funded
Coordination of Supports is funded from the Capacity Building budget in your NDIS plan, under Support Coordination. If your plan only has Level 1, or no coordination at all, you can ask for Level 2 at your next plan reassessment, and we can help gather the evidence.
Level 2 FAQs
What does a Level 2 coordinator do day to day?
A typical week might include contacting providers, checking how supports are going, updating your budget, sorting out a scheduling clash or chasing a report. The aim is to keep your plan working so you can focus on your life, not the paperwork.
How often will I hear from my coordinator?
We agree this with you at the start. Some people like a weekly check-in, others prefer monthly. Either way, you can contact us whenever something comes up.
Can you help with my plan reassessment?
Yes, and we start early. We gather progress reports from your providers and treating team, note what's working and what isn't, and help you explain what you need in your next plan.
What's the difference between Level 2 and Level 3?
Level 2 is ongoing coordination for people with several supports or a lot going on. Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination is for high-risk or complex situations, such as a mental health crisis, housing breakdown, a long hospital stay or justice involvement.
